Pantry

I've been wanting some shelves in our furnace room for a while to add some extra storage space. Josh bought some 2x4s and plywood and was able to quickly build this shelving unit for me. I love how much extra space it gives us!
I've also been wanting some kind of can rotation system and found some heavy-duty cardboard organizers online here. It took a few minutes to figure out how to put the first one together, but after that they went together pretty quickly.
We discovered Skyler loves tools, just like her dad. (Don't worry - we supervised her while she played with them and didn't let her anywhere near the box cutters.)

Swinging

One of the perks about the complex we live in is the little park in the middle of all the homes. Now that the weather is finally nice, I've been trying to take Skyler outside to play everyday. One of my favorite things to do is to take her out to the swings which she loves!

Grandma Mecham

We picked up my mom from the airport today!
We went to Cafe Rio for lunch
then played outside for a bit.
It's always fun to spend time with Grandma!

Skyler's Room

We FINALLY got around to putting up some decorations in Skyler's room. Josh picked up some crown moulding and built a little shelf and I got some wood letters from a local craft store and decorated them with scrapbook paper.
We love how it turned out, but are not quite sure about the location - we may be moving it in the future.

Guns & Hoses 5k

On Saturday I ran in the Pleasant Grove Guns and Hoses 5k. I have slowly been getting back into running and am finally feeling like I am making some progress. It wasn't my best 5k, but I was pleased with my time and finished in 26:28 - an 8:31 mile pace.

Anniversary Gifts

I know our anniversary was last month, but I've been slacking a bit and am just getting around to posting about the gifts we gave each other. As you all know Josh is very talented when it comes to building furniture. He has made several blanket chests for others and I have been wanting one for a long time. This year he gave me the perfect give - a blanket chest of my own!

Josh reads a lot of documents for work so I gave him this 24" computer monitor that he can hook up to his laptop. It swivels so he can use it vertically or horizontally, which makes it perfect for reading documents.

Sleepy Girl

The other day Skyler and I were hanging out in the living room. I went into the kitchen for a couple minutes and came back to find her like this...
I pulled back the blanket to see her just sleeping away.

Swimming

We took Skyler swimming for the first time today. She loves taking baths, so we knew she would love the pool. She kept kicking her legs and loved just hanging out.

We went swimming right after I had gone for a run, so to help cool off I dunked my head under the water. When I popped up, Skyler started laughing. I did it a few more times and she laughed again and again. It's amazing how the most random things are funny to a baby!

6 Month Stats

Skyler is continuing to grow and is progressing well. It's hard to believe she was only 4 pounds 14 ounces and 17 inches long when she was born. She has been sitting up on her own for a few weeks and is rolling and scooting all over the place. Her head is still small, but at least it is growing!

Playing Outside

After getting off work today Skyler and I went outside and played for a while. I am so glad it's finally getting warm outside so we don't have to stay couped up in the house all day.
Skyler started sitting up on her own a few weeks ago and is getting really good at it. It's amazing how quickly babies learn and grow!
