Back in May Josh and I decided to sign up for the Hobble Creek half marathon. Neither of us had ever participated in a race before and thought it would be a good place to start. I began training immediately but built up my distance too quickly and ended up pulling a tendon in my ankle. I was pretty
bummed because I couldn't run for a month while my ankle healed. Josh didn't train very much because his brother let him borrow his road bike so most of his free time was spent riding his bike instead of running. By the time the day of the half marathon rolled around neither one of us felt prepared, but we did it anyway. We ran the first 4 miles together, then I couldn't keep up with Josh so he took off ahead of me. Josh crossed the finish line at 1:57:10 and I crossed at 2:06:22. We both ran the whole way and finished under our time goals.
