Extra Bathroom

Remember this?

I know it has been several months since the mirror fell off the wall in our extra bathroom, but we finally got around to replacing it. We also decide it would be a good idea to paint the bathroom while there was no mirror on the wall. We love how it turned out, and it is nice to have a mirror in the bathroom again.

2 Down,1 To Go

Josh took his last final today which means he is officially done with his second year of law school and is now considered a 3L. It has been a long year, and it is nice that he is done with school for a few months. Only one year left!

Josh's New Motorcycle

Even though Josh just bought his motorcycle last year, he has been thinking about selling it and getting a new one. He got his previous bike for a really good price and was able to sell it for a substantial profit. After looking at several bikes, Josh finally decided to get this Honda CBR. He is excited for something new, and already has plans to modify it to make it the perfect motorcycle.

Soft Sugar Cookies and Buttercream Frosting

I've been looking for a new sugar cookie recipe for a while and finally found one from the girl who ate everything that is delicious! Try it out - you won't be disappointed!

1 cup sour cream
2 cups white sugar
1 cup butter
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine sour cream, sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well. Add dry ingredients until everything is mixed together. Let the dough chill in the fridge for 20 minutes or until firm. Roll it out and cut or whatever you want. Bake until LIGHT golden brown-no more than 10 minutes. When you take them out they will seem underdone but aren't. Let them cool on the pan and they will be perfect and moist. If you like harder and more crunchy just bake them a little longer.

Here is my favorite frosting recipe to go with the sugar cookies.

Buttercream Frosting (from Wilton's Cake Decorating Guide)

1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk or water
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cream together the shortening and butter. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Add food coloring if desired.
