Asleep

Skyler fell asleep on the couch the other day. It made me laugh because it almost looked like she was praying! I just had to take a picture!

New Floors

New Year's Day I was doing laundry and went to transfer a load from the washer to the dryer. As I was walking down the hall to the laundry room my socks got soaked with water. We figured our washer had leaked. Josh cleaned up the water with his shop vac and we went about our day. A little later we realized there was more water in the laundry room. Apparently the sewer line had backed up and we had sewer water coming up the drain in the floor of the laundry room and in the furnace room. Since we live in a townhome the other 3 homes on our row share the same sewer line, and unfortunately the line to our home is the lowest point, so we had water from the other 3 homes coming up the drains as well. We stopped using our water, but any time anyone else on our line used their water it backed up into our home. Josh spent hours just standing in the laundry room with his shop vac. Any time water came up he sucked it straight into his shop vac. He ended up filling his shop vac probably 10 times before someone came to fix the problem. Luckily the sewer line is privately owned by the HOA so we didn't have to pay to get it fixed.

A couple days later I was doing laundry and noticed the floor was really soft in the laundry room. Apparently the water got under the linoleum in the laundry room and furnace room and damaged the floor. Luckily we didn't have to pay for the repairs since it was related to a problem with a sewer line owned by the HOA. Josh and his dad spent Tuesday and Wednesday of this week replacing the floors. We also had to replace the hardwood floor in our entry way since the sewer water came all the way down the hall.

I'm so lucky to have a handy man for a husband! He and his dad did such a good job - I love my new floors!

Skyler

Skyler's aunt made this cute flower for her. It matched her outfit perfectly so I put it on a headband and her outfit was complete!

Just Hanging Out

Skyler is generally a pretty happy baby. She does have the occasional difficult day, but she usually only cries when she is hungry and occasionally when she wants to be held. We love just hanging out - she is so much fun!

Bumbo

We got a bumbo a couple weeks ago for Skyler. She is getting really good at holding her head up so we started using it a few days ago. She loves sitting in it and just relaxing!
