Garage Fun

I love having a girl! Skyler loves the typical girl things - necklaces, the color pink, dolls, you name it. But she can also be a tomboy. She HATES having her hair done (as you will notice in these pictures), enjoys playing in the dirt, and loves to hang out and "help" her dad in the garage. Josh was working in the garage this morning and she wanted to hang out with him, so he propped up her trike and gave her a few tools and she got right to work on her trike.

Halloween

I took Skyler trick-or-treating downtown again this year. I decided to dress her up as an elephant because she has a stuffed elephant that she absolutely loves and she makes the cutest elephant noise. We got a lot of compliments on her costume as we stopped off at all of the shops in the area. Don't let her expression in these pictures fool you. She wouldn't smile for the camera today, but she did have a lot of fun.

We also went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood for a little bit once it got dark. Luckily the weather was really nice today and we stayed plenty warm.
I think one of her favorite parts about Halloween this year was answering the door for trick-or-treaters. She would run up to the door and knock on it before I could open it, then would wave and say goodbye as they all left.

Triple Bunk Beds

Josh's parents have a smaller bedroom in their house that they use as a guest room. They wanted to maximize the space they had by putting 3 beds in the room but weren't sure quite how to do it. I found these triple bunk beds on Pinterest and thought they'd be perfect in their room. Josh got busy designing similar bunk beds and built them this summer, just in time for Josh's brother and his family to visit.

The room is pretty small, so it was a little bit difficult to get some good pictures, so hopefully you get an idea of what they look like from these.

Skyler loves playing on the beds. When Josh's mom watches her, the first thing she does is run into the bedroom where these beds are!

Hogle Zoo

I decided to take Skyler to the Hogle Zoo today so she could see some of her favorite animals in person. The weather was perfect, and it wasn't busy so we really enjoyed our day. We started off by seeing the elephants, which she really loved.

Skyler loved the polar bear. It would jump in the water and she'd say "Where bear? Where bear?" and would laugh and point when it popped its head back up. We ended up watching it for about 20 minutes.

We spent about 3 hours at the zoo and didn't have time to see all the exhibits. Skyler missed her nap so she was ready to go and slept the entire ride home.

Boating and Hanging Out With the Cousins

Last month, Josh's older brother and his family came out to Utah to visit. They have 3 kids and Skyler loved playing with her cousins. Anytime we take Skyler out to the playground next to our house she usually just plays by herself and does her own thing, even when other kids come up to her and want to play. We were surprised that she loved playing with her cousins and even followed Kate around while she was here. We hung out at Josh's parents house a lot and also spent a day at Pineview Reservoir boating.

Skyler loves tomatoes. Someone brought some tomatoes from their garden and I grabbed a couple slices and cut a piece off and gave it to Skyler. She spit it out and grabbed a whole slice from my plate and ate the whole thing - apparently a small bite wasn't enough for her.
