Brooke - 1 Month Old

Brooke is 1 month old today. Things have been pretty hectic and busy lately, so I haven't had time to post about her birth or anything else. Hopefully soon I will find some time to post more than a picture and a couple sentences!

Snow Slide

We got quite a bit of snow recently, so we took Skyler out a couple days in a row to play in it. Josh and Skyler made a snow slide in our front yard and Skyler had a blast helping build it and sliding down it. She had so much fun, she didn't want to go back inside afterwards!

Christmas

We had a really good Christmas this year. We didn't do anything big, and kept it pretty low key. We opened presents in the morning, then Josh's parents came down so we could have lunch together. 

Our Christmas tree this year - it's all made of felt so Skyler was able to move the ornaments around and decorate the tree however she wanted

Skyler got Madagascar and a Mickey Mouse DVD and promptly put them away

 She also got a Hello Kitty shirt

 a stuffed Mickey Mouse, to match the Minnie Mouse she got at Disneyland

 and a giant Mr. Potato head that contains 2 regular Mr. Potato heads and 2 potato head pets

 Skyler loves her new toys and enjoyed opening all her presents!

California Trip

I didn't take a ton of pictures when Skyler and I were in California, but here are a few of them. I took most of them with my phone, so they aren't the best quality. My little sister loved Mickey and Minnie Mouse when she was little and she got these giant stuffed animals for Christmas many years ago. Luckily she saved them, because Skyler LOVED playing with them while we were at my parents' house. She pretty much played with them nonstop the entire time we were there.

Disneyland

Last week, Skyler and I headed down to California for a few days. We went to Disneyland one of the days we were down there and spent a few hours walking around and riding rides. Skyler's favorite show to watch is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She has really grown to love Mickey and Minnie over the last few months, so I thought it would be fun for her to meet them. Luckily, my sister Lindsay has a friend that works at Disneyland and he was able to get us in for free! We found Mickey Mouse just inside the entrance and she got to meet him first thing!

After meeting Mickey we rode the carousel a couple of times. Skyler loved the carousel and had a lot of fun.

Next we rode the Casey Jr train. Skyler loves trains and kept saying "choo choo!" After the train, we took Skyler on Dumbo then headed to Toontown, where Mickey and Minnie live.

By this point Skyler was pretty tired and grumpy, but I thought I'd take her to meet Minnie Mouse and Mickey again. She kind of stared at both of them, and wasn't too interested at this point. At least she got to meet Mickey when we first got to Disneyland and was in a good mood!

I let Skyler pick out a souvenir before we left, and she chose a stuffed Minnie Mouse. We were only at Disneyland for a few hours, but we had a lot of fun.
